3 DIY Face Masks to Pamper Your Skin

April 11, 2015

Face masks are the perfect way to unwind after a long, stressful day. They can brighten your complexion, smooth out your skin and leave you soft and glowing for the week to come. Best of all, they don’t have to break your budget. There are tons of DIY facials that you can do at home with natural, healthy ingredients from your kitchen cupboards. Try these out today.

Sensitive Skin Rescue Mask

This mask is perfect for moms who suffer from sensitive, easily irritated skin. It’s great for treating sunburns and soothing dryness.

What You’ll Need:
½ cup oatmeal
1 cup plain natural yoghurt (a rich, creamy yoghurt works best, and it’ll be extra refreshing if it’s right out of the fridge)
If skin is dry, add a tablespoon of raw organic honey
If skin is oily, add a few drops of lemon juice

Mix your ingredients together well, then smooth onto your skin. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes, then use a steamed warm washcloth to clean the mixture off your skin.

Moisturizing Banana Mask

Believe it or not, bananas are amazing for your skin. Don’t worry if you find yourself overwhelmed by all of the products for really dry skin as this mask will soften dry skin and leave you glowing with health.

What You’ll Need:

1 banana, mashed
1 tablespoon of raw organic honey

Mix the banana and honey together until it forms a smooth paste. Smooth onto your skin and leave for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry.

Brightening Cream Mask
If your skin is looking dull and lifeless at the moment, try this brightening DIY face mask. This mask will exfoliate, heal and moisturize tired skin. It should also refine your pores and create a more even complexion. The apple cider vinegar will also combat acne, so this mask is perfect for young skin or women who struggle with hormonal breakouts.

What You’ll Need:
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons raw, organic honey
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Mix up your ingredients to make the mask, then apply to clean skin. Leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse the mask away with tepid water.
